Assault of the Hotel

Background

This scenario is set in the future, where there is no more Germany but Neo-Prussia, gouverned by the Kaiser (Emperor).

As there have always been animosities and frictions between Bavarians and Prussians, the Bavarians are not happy at all to be gouverned by a Prussian Kaiser, and some resistance fighter groups emerged, fighting for an autonomous Bavarian kingdom.

Scenario Description

In this scenario some Bavarian Rebels attacked an convoy of Prussian Infantry, but it failed and they had to flee. They were followed and sourrounded. The rebels choose to make their last stand in an hotel.

The area was cordoned off, and a Eingreiftruppe of Jäger was called to dislodge the rebels from the hotel.

Victory Conditions

The Prussians have to enter the hotel and crush any resistance in the whole buidling to win. The game lasts until 10 face cards are drawn.

The Rebels win by remaining in at least partial control of the building by the time the 10th face card is drawn. They will be defeated in the end, but by holding out this long it is a major embarrassment for the Prussian military. As this is sure to be covered in the news, it helps the cause of the Bavarian Rebels and counts as a victory for them.

The game is a draw, when the Prussians take the hotel but the rebels manage to move off the board with 5 miniatures.

Scenario Special Rules
LMGs

All LMGs have limitied ammo only. Follow the 'Tight Ammo Rule' from the CR rulebook.

Tripod Mounted LMG

The Tripod mounted LMG has a gun shield. Therefore the Schütze and the Ladeschütze are always considered to be in cover when fired at from the front. When they have to duck back they remain where they are as they are already in cover behind the gun shield. As long as they have a duck down marker they may not dismantle and/or move the machine gun.

The Tripod mounted machine gun is either deployed or dismantled. When deployed it may only be repositioned by 1" per turn, if dismantled the two crewmembers may move normally with it. It takes one turn to dismantle or deploy a machine gun.

Breaching Doors

The doors have been locked from the inside by the Rebels. They can be forced open by the attackers in two ways:

  • Shooting:

The attackers can shoot at the doors, damaging the lock or the hinges. The doors have a DR of 1 and can take 2 bad wounds. When shot open any one seeing the attacker after the successful attack on the door rolls on the First Sight Check Chart.

  • Forcing the door open:

The attackers can force the door open or trying to pick the lock or something similar. The door rolls against its REP and the attacker rolls against his REP. Consult the following Table.

Attacker passes 2 dice more than the door: The lock is picked the attacker may silently push the door open, this does not trigger a first sigth check.

Attacker passes 1 dice more than the door: The door remains closed, the attempt remains undetected.

Attacker passes 0 dice more than the door: The door remains closed, the attempt does not remain undetected. If the door is forced open within the next two turns any defender looking at the door rolls for first sight.

The two main doors have a REP of 3, the door to the basement has a REP of 2.

Table Layout

The hotel is placed in the middle of the board with a broad street around. Some buidings are placed on the board edge to represent the sourrounding town.
